Defending champion Cherry Hill East girls tennis seeded No. 2 in South Jersey Group IV playoffs

Cherry Hill West girls tennis will be the No. 11 seed and visit Shawnee High School in their first round game on Thursday.

Cherry Hill High School East girls tennis will attempt to win their third consecutive South Jersey Group IV championship when they kick off their 2017 postseason next week.

The Cougars were named the №2 seed in the 2017 South Jersey Group IV tournament. Cherry Hill East will receive a bye in the first round of the tournament, which is scheduled to be played on Friday. The Cougars first playoff match will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 10, where Cherry Hill East will host either Lenape High School or Freehold Township High School. The Cougars enter play today with a record of 7–2.

Cherry Hill High School West girls tennis’ postseason will begin on Thursday. The Lions are the №11 seed in the South Jersey Group III tournament and will visit №6 Shawnee High School in the first round. Thursday’s match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

One Cherry Hill tennis player has also qualified for the NJSIAA 2017 Girls Singles Tournament. Cherry Hill East first singles player Pallavi Goculdas was seeded as one of the top 32 singles players in the state. She will be in action on Saturday at Mercer County Park, where she will play Roxbury High School’s Casey Hascup in the first round. The first two rounds of the singles tournament will be played on Saturday, with rounds three and four scheduled for Sunday.
