The Health Fair will consist of an informational display area, where vendors can hand out materials and talk informally with attendees.
In addition, the fair will have ongoing 45-minute workshops presented by speakers on a variety of health and wellness-related topics.
Interested vendors and workshop presenters should contact Heather Xenakis, director of curriculum and instruction, at (609) 268–2000 ext. 5543 or via e-mail at [email protected] by Sept. 27.
“We know that having a healthy mind and body helps us approach each day with energy and enthusiasm, so we chose to focus as a district this year on our own wellbeing,” LRHSD Superintendent Carol Birnbohm said. “We hope that the community businesses will support our efforts through their participation in this Health and Wellness Fair, as we want to empower our staff members to focus on themselves. Our students will ultimately benefit from a happy and healthy teaching staff.”
The Health and Wellness Fair will also serve as a kick-off for the district’s ongoing “Better U campaign.”
Each month, the district will focus on a different theme, from diabetes awareness to stress awareness and even financial stability, with the goal to continue emphasizing to staff the importance of making and taking time to care for oneself.
