On Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m., the Joel and Linda Appel Gallery at the Katz JCC, Cherry Hill will celebrate the work of local three artists, Denise Cooperman, Annie Stone and Michael Bruce. The gallery exhibit will be open to the public throughout September and October.
An interior designer for over 30 years, Denise Cooperman’s art is a blend of her many talents from jewelry and furniture design and her vast array of artwork is a tribute to the many sides of her colorful personality. She paints subjects that are dear to her heart and evoke deep emotion such as her new Judaic series, which is inspired by her son. Her bridal series will leave you breathless as she paints to life this milestone event.
Annie Stone’s work creates miraculous gems of nature out of reclaimed materials and blends her love for nature, the environment, and color into a unique and specialized art form. Using her textile design background, Stone has developed an original method of making nature collages that literally jump out of the frame.
Michael Bruce, an award winning local florist, will showcase his silk arrangements to compliment Cooperman’s bridal series and Stone’s nature inspired work. Bruce has been a major exhibitor in the Philadelphia International Flower Show since 2004, winning Best in Show in 2006 and 2008 as well as a Best Achievement Award for Innovative Design Concept, The Philadelphia Trophy and The Alfred M. Campbell Memorial Trophy. In 2006, Bruce received a bronze medal at The First International Singapore Garden Festival.
The gallery will be on display until the end of October during normal hours at the JCC. For more information about this gallery exhibit or to learn how to be considered for a future exhibit, email Suzanne Post at [email protected] or visit katzjcc.org/appel-art-gallery.
