Burlington County promotes ‘Clear the Shelters’ event on Aug. 19

The Burlington County Animal Shelter is waiving all adoption fees for approved applicants on Saturday, Aug. 19.

Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio has announced that the Burlington County Animal Shelter will be participating in NBC10’s “Clear the Shelters” event on Saturday, Aug. 19.

The one day event will take place at the Burlington County Animal Shelter from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Burlington County is proud to once again be participating in the “Clear the Shelters” event,” Garganio said as he described the effort as one that helps find homes for animals in need.

According to a release from the county, in 2016 “Clear the Shelters” was responsible for almost 54,000 pets finding their forever homes.

“Through our efforts last year, the Burlington County Animal Shelter found 57 animals their forever homes during this one day event,” Garganio said. “In honor of this year’s event, the Burlington County Animal Shelter is waiving all adoption fees for approved applicants this Saturday.”

Ganganio asks the residents of Burlington County to remember to “adopt not shop.”

“Let’s break last year’s record and find even more animals loving forever homes this year,” Garganio said.

The Burlington County Animal Shelter is located at 35 Academy Drive in Westampton, behind the Burlington County Library.
