Kahyun “Kay” Yoon-Flannery will oversee Kennedy’s breast care program based within its Cancer Center.
Kahyun “Kay” Yoon-Flannery has been named Medical Director of the Kennedy Comprehensive Breast Center in Washington Township. In this role, Yoon-Flannery will oversee Kennedy’s breast care program, based within its Cancer Center, which provides a supportive environment for women to receive patient-centered care for an array of breast conditions, both benign and malignant. Fluent in Korean, Yoon-Flannery resides in Haddonfield, with her family.
At Kennedy, Yoon-Flannery, who completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, will diagnose and surgically treat various conditions of the breast in conjunction with a multidisciplinary panel of health experts throughout the patient’s course of treatment.
Yoon-Flannery performs all aspects of breast surgery, including lumpectomy, skin- sparing mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy and axillary lymph node procedures. A resident of southern New Jersey, Yoon-Flannery earned her undergraduate degree from New York University and received her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Yoon-Flannery completed her residency at Rowan SOM, where she served as Chief Surgical Resident from 2015 to 2016. She also holds a master of public health in epidemiology from the Rutgers School of Public Health in Piscataway.
Yoon-Flannery is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Her areas of special interest include minimally invasive breast surgery particularly nipple-sparing mastectomy and novel approaches in breast lesion localization. She is also certified in Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery.
