VFW organizing fundraiser for local bus driver faced with medical challenges

Join the Washington Township VFW on a daylong bus trip to Gettysburg, Pa. on Sept. 16

The Washington Township VFW №6332 invites community members to join in a day trip to Gettysburg, Pa. on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The trip is being organized as a fundraiser to benefit Harry Lucas, a U.S. Navy veteran and former school bus driver for the Washington Township Public Schools, who faces increasing medical challenges.

The chartered bus will depart from the Ganttown Road entrance at Washington Township High School at 8 a.m. Participants will receive a three-hour tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield by a licensed tour guide, enjoy a meal at General Pickett’s Buffet and view a battle-related film before arriving back to Washington Township by 8 p.m.

A fee of $69 per person will cover transportation, tour and theater admission, buffet meal, taxes and tips. Participants should make checks payable to VFW Post №6332 and mail checks to P.O. Box 8426, Turnersville, NJ 08012, by Aug. 16. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
