On Monday night, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office in South Dakota identified James T. Hughes, 55, of Cherry Hill as the victim in the fatal crash.

On Sunday, the sheriff’s office reported that a man had died after riding in an off-road vehicle alone in a rugged area of Farmingdale. Farmingdale is located about 25 miles southeast of Rapid City in the western portion of South Dakota.

The Sheriff’s Office dispatched Pennington County Search and Rescue at 2:19 p.m. on July 23. About an hour later, the man was found dead. Authorities believe the man drove the vehicle off a cliff. Authorities do not believe there was any foul play, drug or alcohol abuse were factors in the incident.
