Mayor’s Message: Got talent? Share it with Voorhees

First ‘Voorhees Got Talent’ program hosts auditions June 20, 22

Mayor Michael Mignogna

Our first “Voorhees Got Talent” program will be happening this summer to showcase our community’s performers.

This program is offering a “Casting Call” for Voorhees residents who are singers, dancers, musicians, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages. Although we will not be offering golden tickets to California, we will be awarding a first place prize of $1,000 and a second place prize of $500.

The first audition will be on Tuesday, June 20, at 5 p.m. at the atrium area outside the first floor of the former Macy’s in the Voorhees Town Center. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. There will be a second open audition on Thursday, June 22, starting at 6 p.m. at Connolly Park on the stage prior to our first summer concert.

The semifinalists will then perform on Thursday, July 20, at 6 p.m. at Connolly Park on the stage prior to our second summer concert. On Thursday, July 27, at 7 p.m. the top 5 will move to the “Voorhees Got Talent” finals to be held at the Eastern Regional High School Theater.

The audition will consist of a 1- to 2-minute act to showcase your talent. You can pick either audition date, but you can only audition once. You must be a Voorhees resident to compete. All auditions are open to the public with audience seating provided, so invite your fans to come and support you. Register for your chance to be the first “Voorhees Got Talent” winner at the Voorhees Township website, www.voorheesnj.com.
