We are excited to announce the beginning of our Summer Reading Program 2017 on June 20 at 6:00! Join us for an evening of fun with The Lizard Guys and their scaly friends. The Lizard Guys will hold each animal and explain where they come from, what they eat and what their normal day is. Please register if you will be attending. This program is open to readers of all ages. The more you read, the more prizes you can win. Ready, set…read!

Our Family Movie Series will be hosting a special matinee showing of Disney’s live-action film, “Beauty and the Beast” at 10:30 on June 17. Journey with Belle to the Beast’s castle where the enchanted staff help bell see the true soul of the prince despite his beastly appearance. Snacks and beverages may be served, but feel free to bring your own.

Mr. Scott, the Music Man will be visiting with us on Thursday, June 22 at 10:30. Join us for his high energy performance to get us moovin’ and groovin’. You might want to wear your favorite tie-dye clothes. Please pre-register your children ages 2 to 8 for this fun event.

For our adults, the BCLS Brewers’ Book Club is a new opportunity. The first meeting will be on Sunday, June 18 from 2 to 4 pm. It is the perfect time to enjoy a relaxed discussion of books you are reading while sampling some of the fine products of a local brewery.

Mark Twain2020: A Rally in Parody will be performed by Rick Bonnette on June 26 at 6:30. While campaigning for President in 2020, Mark Twain (Bonnette)takes aim at his opponents and appeals to the 100 million Americans who did not vote in the last election. Join Twain’s Army and show up at his next rally. “you could do a lot worse”!

And the winners are — Mickey and Minnie! Thanks to all who voted for names for the two new bright gold fish. All the fish in the tank now have new names, so be sure to stop by for a fresh look at the aquarium.

Until next time, keep turning those pages and watch out for children on vacation out and about!
