Marlton residents Kurt Orfe and Ashley Stott are happy to announce their engagement.

The two met at Sovereign Grace Church in Marlton, where they both attend.

Kurt and Ashley became engaged on April 1 when Kurt took Ashley to Smithville Mansion for a walk on their one-year dating anniversary.

After parking near the trails and walking toward the lake, Ashley was surprised to find candles lining the steps leading down to a dock on the lake.

Once at the bottom of the steps, Kurt said “Happy Anniversary,” leading Ashley to believe the walk was simply to celebrate their one-year anniversary.

However, after a long pause, Kurt told Ashley that he wanted to “keep celebrating” as he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

When the two came back up the steps, a gazebo they had passed before was now decorated with lights and pictures of the couple and music was playing.

In the middle of the gazebo was a table for two, champagne for toasting and a picture of the couple with the words “She said yes!” written on it with the date 4–1–17.

The two hope to get married this September and hope to be married at the Smithville Mansion.
