Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Coaches vs. Cancer and Katz JCC Youth Basketball Programs.
Residents can shoot some hoops at the Katz JCC on Thursday, June 22 during the 12th annual Sussman 3-on-3 Adult Basketball Tournament.
The tournament honors Eric and Andy Sussman, two JCC members who were avid basketball players. Upon their passing, JCC members and friends of the Sussman brothers started a fundraiser and charity tournament. What started out as a small event in 2004 has grown bigger each year as the community comes out to support a good cause.
“The Sussman tournament is a true mesh of energies from the Sussman family, the Katz JCC, and the committee members many of which who are people who grew up literally with Eric and Andy,” said Bill Christy, JCC sports and leagues director. “It’s an honor to keep their memory alive through this event every year.”
Proceeds from this event benefit Coaches vs. Cancer and Katz JCC Youth Basketball Programs, which supports children who come from low-income families attend basketball programs.
All tournament participants receive a commemorative t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to tournament winners. Advanced registration is $20 per player. Registration the day of the tournament is $30 per player.
