Power of the Purse is a unique “Girls’ Night Out” event filled with food, friends, networking and a silent auction.
The American Red Cross is hosting its annual Power of the Purse fundraiser on Thursday, May 18 at The Merion in Cinnaminson.
Power of the Purse is a unique “Girls’ Night Out” event filled with food, friends, networking and a silent auction featuring more than 60 designer bags, including one-of-a-kind creations from students of the Fashion Department at Rowan College at Burlington County. Guests will also enjoy music, dancing, beauty treatments, photo opportunities, raffles and fantastic shopping from local boutiques.
“The humanitarian spirit is always in style and we have great bags to match it at our Power of the Purse,” said Ana Montero, CEO of American Red Cross New Jersey Region. “Bring your friends or come meet new ones as you shop to support a great cause.”
Proceeds from Power of the Purse will benefit Red Cross programs and services, including disaster relief. The American Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters each year, many of these being home fires. Last year, the American Red Cross New Jersey Region responded to more than 760 local disasters, mostly home fires, to provide comfort and emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food and clothing as needed to more than 1,800 families.
