Lenape District’s “One Book” initiative starts exciting next chapter

The district will pick a single book for students in all high schools to read in an effort to encourage teen reading.

A “One Book” initiative has been adopted by Lenape Regional High School District in an effort to further benefit students as part of the district’s academic programming and overall emphasis on reading across all subject areas.

Instead of the previous “One Book, One School,” initiative, which assigned books to each high school, the new “One Book” initiative focuses on assigning one book for all of the high schools in an effort to read the same book as one community.

“Our district is always looking for ways to improve in all areas, including supporting dialogue among students and staff about a book they have all read, and across all subject areas,” said Cherokee South Assistant Principal Dave New.
