Evesham Police deem non-specific threat made against Cherokee High School as non-credible

Police say they determined the post was made from a social media account that had been hacked.

The following information comes from the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Thursday morning, the Evesham Police Department said the department was made aware of a non-specific threat made over social media regarding Cherokee High School for tomorrow, May 12.

Police say they have thoroughly investigated the accusation and determined the threat to non-credible.

According to police, school resource officers worked closely with the staff at Cherokee High School and detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s office to quickly determine that the post was made from a social media account that had been hacked.

Police say the threatening message originated from an IP address outside of the country.
