Washington Township Night at the Phillies had students, staff in the spotlight

Students, staff shined during pre-game festivities for the Phillies-Mariners game

Though scripted to the minute, memories of pre-game festivities for Washington Township High School students and staff will last a lifetime following their participation in Washington Township Night at Citizens Bank Park on May 9 when the Phillies hosted the Seattle Mariners.

Members of the WTHS orchestra provided pre-game music at the Phillies-Mariners game on May 9 at Citizens Bank Park.

Orchestra director Judy Pagon and her students entertained the early arriving stadium crowd, and a video montage, produced by the school’s Monthly Rewind Club, was featured on the stadium’s Phanavision. WTHS Teachers of the Year Janet Reardigan and Greg Muscelli, and Educational Services Professional of the Year David Walls participated in the first-pitch ceremony.

Members of the school’s Air Force JROTC presented the colors at the Phillies-Mariners game.

The school’s Air Force JROTC unit presented the colors, and members of the school’s choir, under the direction of teacher Joe Zachowski, performed the National Anthem. The evening definitely delivered big league fun and exposure despite an eventual Phillies’ loss.
