Moorestown resident Karen Smith passed away on Tuesday, April 18 at age 66.
Karen was a graduate of Cornell University class of 1973 and had worked for Robert Bruce Menswear in Philadelphia, then in the garment manufacturing industry in New York City as a production and import manager, allowing her to travel the world.
Karen was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church — her family provided the first chapel. Karen married Fred Smith in 1974 and helped operate Fountain Flowers in Moorestown in 1991.
Karen was survived by her husband of 43 years, Fred W. Smith Jr. She was the daughter of Helen Nutter McChesney and the late Leo McChesney and the sister of Helen “Muffie” McChesney, Frances McChesney, Leo W. McChesney, James McChesney and Arthur McChesney.
A burial will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Moorestown.
