Heggan Library to reopen on Wednesday

The library has been closed for parking lot reconstruction.

The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library was closed for 11 days while their parking lot was under reconstruction.

Sheila Mikkelson, library director, has announced the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library will be reopening on Wednesday, April 19 at 10 a.m after it was closed until further notice for parking lot reconstructions.

Only the Delsea Drive entrance will be operational at that time, while the Hollydell Court entrance will still be closed for continued work.

According to the library’s social media, the project, which was expected to be completed by April 16, was delayed due to weather, “unexpected and unavoidable excavation and drainage issues.”

While the library was closed, card holders were able to visit any of the other libraries in Gloucester County, as well as some in Salem and Cumberland counties in the Login Consortium.
