This is the last meeting of the season and features “Blackbeard the Pirate” as speaks about his adventures and skirmishes in the area.
The Mt. Laurel AARP Chapter will meet on Thursday, May 4 at 1 p.m. in the Mt. Laurel Community Center, 100 Mt. Laurel Road.
This is the last meeting of the season and features “Blackbeard the Pirate,” as he speaks about his adventures and skirmishes in the area.
There will also be information about other pirates about whether they are folklore or real.
Everyone is welcome to join this meeting, and newcomers are invited to attend this first meeting as the group’s guest.
Donations of non-perishable food items will also be accepted for the Women’s Opportunity Center and old eyeglasses will be accepted for the Lions Club.
Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
Reservations will also be taken for the chapter’s 30th Anniversary Luncheon to be held at The Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees on Thursday June 1.
The price of $38 per person includes the Mansion Salad with a choice of chicken florentine, four cheese ravioli or salmon for the entree, served with vegetable medley and roasted potatoes.
A special celebration cake will be served for dessert.

The chapter’s 2017–2018 meetings will resume on Thursday, Sept. 7 and continue until June, 2018.
