Weekly Roundup: Gloucester and Winslow Townships reaching out to community

This week, both townships presented several examples of how they are trying to connect residents with local government.

A Sneak Peak of what’s to come in Gloucester Township

As of a few weeks ago, Gloucester Township residents will not always have to seek out answers for questions they may have for the local government. Sometimes, the mayor will come to them. Mayor David Mayer started the Ask The Mayor video at the beginning of March, answering questions from residents.

This is only the start, though. Mayer detailed several programs that residents can expect to see in the near future, including police playing video games with kids.

Meet some of the Winslow Township Police

Winslow Township residents with questions for their police force will have the opportunity to ask them. On April 29, residents can grab coffee with officers to discuss the town and anything else involved.

Gloucester Township 5K helps graduating seniors get ready, set and go

140 people showed up on a chilly Saturday morning to participate in the 21st Annual Gloucester Township Scholarship 5K run around the neighborhood. Together, they raised a net profit of $10,767 that went toward the Gloucester Township Scholarship Committee, and will help 10 graduating seniors pay for college.
