Winslow Township Police arrest burglar connected to multiple robberies

Police arrested Shawn Kennedy, 37, in Pennington Ave Waterford Works.

On April 13, during the overnight hours, Winslow Township Patrol Officers were conducting foot patrols in the area of Pennington Ave. Pennington Ave is in Waterford Works in response to numerous burglaries in that area over the last couple of months.

Officers located a suspicious person walking through yards on Pennington Ave. The subject was carrying a pair of bolt cutters. The subject initially provided a false name to officers. Investigation revealed that the subject’s real name was Shawn Kennedy, 37, and he had active warrants for previous failures to appear (FTA) in court.

Kennedy was taken into custody on the active warrants. Officers located numerous pieces of tools, lawn equipment, and machinery. Additionally, officers located a quantity of heroin.

The investigation continued with the assistance of the Detective Bureau. Five burglaries dating back to March 17 were solved and five separate victims had some of their stolen items returned.

Kennedy was charged with five counts of burglary, five counts of theft, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property, possession of heroin and obstruction. In accordance with the NJ Bail Reform, Shawn was charged on summonses for the aforementioned charges.

Kennedy was sent to Camden County Correctional facility in default of bail for his active FTA warrants.
