A resident suffered from a gunshot wound to the chest after an altercation in his home on Friday.
On Friday, April 7, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Washington Township police officers responded to Hamal Court for a male subject suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to police, the victim was confronted inside his residence where a brief struggle ensued, resulting in the male being struck in the head by a small yellow crowbar and shot once in the chest. The accused fled the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found a male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was provided medical treatment at the scene and transported to Cooper Trauma for additional care. The male was released with non-life threatening injuries.
Police were unable to release additional information about the victim at the time.
The resident described the suspect to police as a black male, approximately six feet, two inches tall and weighs about 260 pounds. He was wearing a black long sleeve sweatshirt, black long pants, a black mask and gloves. He was described to be very dark complexed and wearing thick glasses.
