As Chair of the Sustainable Moorestown Green Team, I want to provide additional information regarding the Community-Wide Yard Sale scheduled for May 13. The Moorestown Sun briefly mentioned this event in an article entitled “Water Treatment Discussion Continues,” in the April 5–11 issue on page 8.
Sustainable Moorestown is encouraging all Moorestown residents to consider reusing, repurposing or otherwise recycling no longer needed items. It costs the Township of Moorestown almost $81 per ton to dispose of its residential trash, not including pickup and transportation. With 20,726 residents in Moorestown, that cost can multiply quickly.
Moorestown residents are encouraged to register for the annual day-long event by either going to www.SustainableMoorestown.org and clicking on the “Second Annual Moorestown Town-Wide Yard Sale” article or going directly to https://goo.gl/forms/4HILEJ4vvRg4N9T22 to complete the registration form. The form is self-explanatory and provides information we can use to produce a generic list of homes for the buying public with the items you will have available for sale. We will make this list of residences participating in the yard sale event available on www.SustainableMoorestown.org one week prior to the event.
There is no fee to list your residence or participate in the town-wide yard sale, so if you haven’t cleaned out that attic, garage or basement, now is the perfect time to put these items out on your driveway or lawn and give someone else a chance to use them in their home.
