The night will celebrate ethnic diversity among students in the public school district
The Washington Township public schools will celebrate the ethnic diversity among its students during International Night 2017 hosted on Wednesday, April 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Play House at Washington Township High School (11/12 auditorium).
English as Second Language teachers, program director and students, along with district administrators, board members, parents and staff will enjoy an evening of food, fun and entertainment. The theme for this year’s event is “Vogue — Let’s Strike a Pose!”
Achievement awards will be distributed to the following individuals:
Kindergarten: Ahmad Aljaf Michael Bochenski, Andrea Estremera, Elizabeth Hernandez, Cristobal Pinto-Cueto, Kevin Primero, Morad Shreim, Oscar Menes, Giovanni Primero and Alicia Tavares.
Grade 1: Shanelle Huixin Chen, Johnny Escobar, Adnan Islam, Abdulrahman Kashlan, Zaid Kashlan, Jullianne Nguyen, Jesus Ortigoza Aca, Natalie Reodica and Nikkya Sanchez Ortiz.
Grade 2: Marco Ochoa, Gabriela Pernia Gomez, Jennifer Primero and Sybelle Suarez Vazquez.
Grade 3: Yousuf Al Hamed, Lily Chen, Guadalupe Jerez-Puli, Aws Shaikh-Yousef and Vanessa Trinidad.
Grade 4: May Al Rikabi, Nhan Le, David Ochoa, Rishi Patel and Sirui Wu.
Grade 6: Sandi Abuqalbin, Selma Shraim and Aseel Qasem.
Grade 8: Ahmed Anber, Bilal Al Hamed, Hamza Abuqalbeen and Paola Pernia Gomez.
Grade 9: Sandra Abuqalbeen, Ahamad Shraim and Simon Singh.
Grade 10: Zahraa Anber, Eojin Jang, Cristologo Mananggit and Manav Patel.
Grade 11: Mohaimen Al Rikabi, Mahmood Al Sheikh Yousef, Evita Angjeli, Ismael Diaz, Maria Halina-Mananggit and Katherine Tenido.
Grade 12: Ali Al Rikabi and Mehran Mahnam.
The Washington Township ESL program is comprised of 54 students who speak 13 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Farsi, Greek, Gujarati, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.
