Mt. Laurel Board of Education honors winners of this year’s fire safety poster contest
Officials from the Mt. Laurel Fire Department sorted through a record-breaking almost 1,200 fire prevention safety posters to select five finalists who were honored at the Mt. Laurel Board of Education’s meeting this week. This year’s winners include Kyle Gonzalez of Countryside Elementary School, Lauren Jolicoeur of Hillside Elementary School, Salvatore Neri of Parkway Elementary School, Tessa Sellers of Hartford School and Genevieve Slota of Hillside Elementary School.
Mt. Laurel Township eyes redesign for township website at latest township council meting
Mt. Laurel’s municipal website could soon be getting a facelift if officials move forward with plans discussed at this week’s township council meeting. In addition to the total overhaul of the website, township officials say a redesigned website would also provide a method where members of the public could sign up directly for email and text alerts from the township.
Lenape boys lacrosse determined to snatch sectional title back in 2017
Getting to the sectional final is nothing new for Lenape High School boys lacrosse. The Indians have qualified for the South Jersey Group IV final each of the past three seasons. However, winning the sectional has eluded Lenape in two of the last three years. This year, the Indians’ goal isn’t just to advance to the sectional final for a fourth consecutive season. It’s to win it and go deeper into the postseason than ever.
Friends of the Mt. Laurel Library next ‘Bargain Book & Media Sale’ April 19 to April 22
The next Friends of the Mt. Laurel Library Bargain Book & Media Sale will take place at the Mt. Laurel Library from Wednesday, April 19, through Saturday, April 22. Members of the Friends are invited to the preview night on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. New members are welcome to join then.

The Seneca High School gym was full of cheering people recently as the school served as the site for the FIRST Mid-Atlantic Robotics Seneca District Competition.The competition had 37 teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The two Lenape teams were the Iron Devils Robotics Team and the Storm Robotics Team. The Iron Devils were comprised of students from both Seneca and Shawnee high schools, with the Storm comprised of students from Lenape and Cherokee.
