Moorestown Friends School will work in collaboration with a number of highly reputable sports academies.
This summer, Moorestown Friends School will work in collaboration with a number of highly reputable sports academies — Moorestown Tennis Club, Universal Soccer Academy and Zeljkovic Fencing Academy — to offer expert sports instruction, training, and fun to area youngsters. These professionals specifically work with children to develop training programs that feed their mental and physical spirit. These programs are more than skills camps — instructors will talk about health, nutrition, training, and recovery.
“We are thrilled to be working with these academies to offer high-quality sports programming throughout the summer,” Director of Auxiliary Programs Martha Cameron said.
Flag football, basketball clinics and swimming instruction will also be offered.
Soccer and tennis programs are available for students entering grades K-9, fencing programs are available for students entering grades 4–6 and flag football and basketball are available for students entering grades 3–8. Availability varies from week to week. MFS Summer Programs run from June 26 — August 11.
Recognized internationally, Universal Soccer Academy provides its students with a structured pathway to success. Universal impacts the play of players through modern training techniques and concepts.
“Since 2000, we’ve helped develop hundreds of young players in South Jersey at all levels, many of whom have gone on to play at the college and professional levels.” said James Galanis, President and Director of Soccer Operations for Universal and personal coach/mentor for FIFA Player of the Year Carli Lloyd. “We’re excited to offer programs on the Moorestown Friends School campus this summer.”
Zeljkovic Fencing Academy is eager to introduce the Olympic sport of fencing to young people.
“Fencing is a cerebral and physical sport, often referred to as ‘physical chess,’” said Mickey Zeljkovic, owner and coach at Zeljkovic Fencing Academy. “MFS is of the one of the only schools in South Jersey to offer fencing as a varsity sport and we’re thrilled to offer programs for young fencers this summer at the school.”
Moorestown Tennis Club has five indoor tennis courts on Twosome Drive in Moorestown and offers training for all levels of players.
“We’ve had a great relationship with MFS and their tennis programs since our opening,” MTC Junior Director Omar Gonzelez said. “It is a great opportunity to offer summer programs for area young people on their campus, taking advantage of their high-quality tennis courts and facilities.”
