Bob Schoenfeldt was named Certified Educational Facilities Manager of the Year
Washington Township Public Schools’ Operations Manager Bob Schoenfeldt has been named as the 2016–17 Certified Educational Facilities Manager of the Year by the New Jersey Building and Grounds Association. He was honored at an awards ceremony on March 14, at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. The award annually recognizes management, leadership, innovation, outstanding service and best practices in the field of school buildings and grounds. Schoenfeldt was selected from 1,200 certified professionals across the state.
In his position, Schoenfeldt is responsible for the daily operations of 11 schools and five additional buildings and oversees a staff of 85 professionals who ensure the district’s facilities operate safely and efficiently.
“Mr. Schoenfeldt’s vast knowledge of building systems never ceases to amaze me,” District Business Administrator Peg Meehan said. “He has broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems, as well as engineering processes, elevator operations, construction management and safety initiatives. He is well-versed in state and federal mandates from the fire marshal, the Department of Education, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and stays current on changes in the industry to realize cost savings for the District. Bob routinely supervises multiple, large-scale projects with competency and is respected by staff and administration alike. We are extremely fortunate to enjoy the fruits of his expertise and dedication.”
Schoenfeldt joined the Washington Township Public Schools as an operations coordinator in June of 1999 and was elevated to his current position in March of 2005.
