HOPE Church to host plenty of Easter season events

HOPE Church is inviting the community to a number of free-of-charge events for the spring and Easter season.

The Kids of HOPE choir’s will host their spring production of Treasure Island: Searching for Riches in the Kingdom of God Sunday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m. The play follows a group of kids who just arrived on Treasure Island and can not wait to discover the treasure that is in store for them. With the guidance of Captain Fisher and a map, they start out on an adventure seeking something more valuable than gold. Though Captain Fisher was once a pirate searching for the riches of this world, he now seeks God’s kingdom as a fisher of men. Captain Fisher teaches the kids that they should always pursue godly wisdom and eternal riches. The nursery will be available.

All are welcome to HOPE’s Palm Sunday worship services at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 9. The Worship Artists will present Jesus. John the Baptist, Peter, James, John and others give their eyewitness accounts of Christ’s ministry leading up to his crucifixion. HOPE Players, The Band and Voices of HOPE come together as they highlight major events in Christ’s life and how they impact people’s lives today.

The church will also host the Good Friday Experience on Friday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. This is a self-guided, journal-driven, multi-sensory, meditative experience. Participants will move through seven stations, each a reflection on the seven times Jesus spoke while He was dying on the cross. There will be opportunities to reflect on what Jesus said and did for us, through prayer, meditation and various creative expressions. The Good Friday Experience is geared for adults. A children’s program will be offered and the nursery will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and then again from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

New this year, HOPE will add a worship service for Easter on Saturday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m. An Easter Sunrise Service will take place Sunday, April 16 at 6:30 a.m. at Lions Lake Park, located off Route 73 in Voorhees, weather permitting. Attendants are asked to bring a chair.

HOPE’s Easter Sunday worship services will be held at the church campus at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. on April 16. The Kidz Konnect worship experience, designed especially for children, will be held during all three services along with nursery care.
