Having just read the letter of Ms. Dickey, I was happy to see that, as part of my intent, I got a rise out of her. I do enjoy “stirring the pot,” so to speak.
I was pleased to see that she refers to my “myopic judgement” and missing her point — pleased because it seems to fit the current rulers in Washington, which is far from my actual beliefs. I did enjoy that and found it “humorous.”
Perhaps I did, indeed, miss her “point,” but in my senility I seem to recall Ms. Dickey suggesting that The Sun censor some letters and such that she felt did not belong in The Sun. I was, however, pleased to see a political letter in the same issue. I wonder if that offended Ms. Dickey. I do hope not, as the current folks in charge of the United States are providing me with many humorous moments, one of the most recent being the statement that our electronic items are spying on us, like our microwave ovens.
One of my favorite quotes is from Harry Truman: “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.” I do enjoy sarcasm and many forms of humor. Not everybody shares the same sense!
