Hurffville Elementary Drama Club presents “Wright!”

Students gave a musical history of flight, telling the story of Orville and Wilbur Wright

The Hurffville Elementary School cast of “Wright!” posed for a photo.

“Why-o, why-o, from Dayton, O-hi-o, they looked to the sky-o” sang fourth and fifth grade students as part of the Hurffville Elementary School Drama Club’s production of “WRIGHT!”

On the left, members of the press corps chronicled the Wright brothers’ innovation. On the right, Hurffville fifth-graders Aaron Kolosowsky and Angelina Chila portrayed Orville and Wilbur Wright in their production of “Wright!”

The spirited musical told of the history of Orville and Wilbur Wright who went from building bicycles to crafting a glider that eventually rose 10 feet off the ground in Kitty Hawk, NC — 10-feet that forever changed the world.

As the musical “Wright!” recounted, the Wright brothers never stopped looking up.

The production, under the direction of music teacher Nancy Leong, spoke to the tenacity of the inventors, brothers who dared to dream and follow their imagination.
