Free workshop explaining New Jersey’s new bail reform law tonight

The new law eliminates bail for those who are deemed a risk to public safety.

On Jan. 1, a new bail reform law in New Jersey went into effect, and there is a meeting tonight at Dreams of Tomorrow Center in Sicklerville at 7 p.m. to explain the new law and discuss the implementations.

The state shifted from a system that relies principally on setting bail as a condition of release to a risk-based system that is more objective and more fair to defendants because it is unrelated to their ability to pay bail.

Dreams of Tomorrow Center is located at 234 Sicklerville Road, Sicklerville.
