Police: Woman falsified report of attack and medication theft to police to obtain more medication

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

At 4:36 p.m. on Jan. 30, Mt. Laurel Police responded to the parking lot of J&J Hardware, 100 Ark Road, for the report of a robbery.

Barbara A. Ayala, age 45, of Mt. Laurel, reported that she just exited her vehicle at the hardware store when a man approached her from behind and stuck an object in her back.

Police say she said she was told not to turn around and the suspect took her purse containing prescription medication and ran off.

Several officers to include a K9 officer responded to look for the suspect.

Police say further questioning of the victim determined that no robbery had occurred and that she made a false report in order to obtain more medication.

Police say Ayala was arrested and charged with filing a false police report and released pending a court hearing.

At 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 3, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. During the stop officers arrested Raymond Torres Jr. age 19, of Pennsauken. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.

At 2:08 p.m. on Feb. 2, Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on the 1100 block of Route 73 for suspicious activity. As a result of the investigation, officers arrested John C. Rizzo, age 20, of Runnemede. He had previously been banned from the hotel by management and also had an active warrant for his arrest. He was found in possession of oxycontin and drug paraphernalia. Rizzo also destroyed a pill when it was seen by an officer. He was charged with possession of oxycontin, destruction of evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to surrender a controlled dangerous substance to police. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

A resident on the 1000 block of South Church Street reported that a heavy duty 12” wet tile saw was stolen from a shed in his yard sometime between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.

A resident of the 4300 block of Aberdeen Drive reported that a laptop was stolen from his unlocked car during the overnight hours of Jan. 30 into Jan. 31.

At 4:44 p.m. on Feb. 1, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Rogers Walk. During the stop officers arrested Frank J. Ferro III, age 39, of Marlton. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. He also had several warrants for his arrest. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

At 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 38 near Union Mill Road. During the stop officers arrested Tony Pressley, Jr., age 28, of Mt. Holly. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

During the overnight hours of Jan. 28 into Jan, 29, someone spray painted the letters “R. O” on the exterior wall of the restrooms at Laurel Acres Park on S. Church Street.

A resident of the 200 block of Everly Court reported that prescription medication was stolen from her purse during the overnight hours of Jan. 28 into Jan. 29. The victim suspects an acquaintance she allowed to spend the night of the theft.

At 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, Mt. Laurel Police responded to Target on Centerton Road for a shoplifting in progress. Three suspects were stopped by police as they attempted to drive away. The investigation determined that two of the suspects stole $198 worth of baby formula. Arlene West, age 58 ,of Trenton, and Carrie F. Brown, age 50, of Trenton, were each charged with shoplifting and committed to the Burlington County Jail. A third suspect, Victoria Williams, age 49, of Trenton, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and turned over to another law enforcement agency.

On Jan. 27, Mt. Laurel Police responded to Wegman’s, 2 Centerton Road for a past tense shoplifting report. A male and female suspect hid $169 worth of baby formula in the female’s purse and exited the store without paying.

A resident of East Peachtree Court reported that all four tires of her vehicle were slashed during the early morning hours of Jan. 27.

At 11:41 a.m. on Jan. 27, Mt. laurel Police responded to a hotel on Nixon Drive for a disturbance in the lobby. The investigation revealed that Brent D. Greene, age 30, of Moorestown, entered a vacant hotel room and was staying there until he was discovered by the staff. During the investigation, Greene provided a false name to officers. He was arrested and charged with trespassing, theft of services, and hindering his own apprehension. Greene was released pending a court hearing.

At 7:15 a.m. on Jan. 27, Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Road near Waverly Avenue. During the stop officers arrested Henry A. Greene Jr., age 21, of Camden. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and released pending a court hearing.
