The Code Blue has been issued with low temperatures expected to dip into the low 20s overnight.
For the second straight night, Cherry Hill and other Camden County municipalities will be under a Code Blue Advisory.
The Camden County Health Officer has issued an advisory from Camden County effective from 6 p.m. on Jan. 30 through 6 a.m. on Jan. 31.
When a Code Blue is declared, municipalities with homeless populations, situational homeless or transient populations are expected to activate their Code Blue response plans and accommodate their immediate needs.
“Overnight temperatures are expected to be in the low 20s and forecasters are not ruling out the possibility of snow flurries. In these extreme weather conditions, we need everyone to be sheltered and out of the elements,” Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez said. “If you must leave the house, please dress yourself and your children in warm clothing, hats and gloves. Also, please remember to check on elderly relatives and neighbors, and bring your pets indoors.”
Persons seeking shelter in a warming center should contact their local municipality. Additional resources are available by calling the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services at (800) 999–9045, or by visiting www.camdencounty.com.
