County Clerk offers afternoon of Valentine’s Day weddings
Burlington County Clerk Tim Tyler announced plans for a day of weddings at the historic Smithville Mansion on Smithville Road in Eastampton. The ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, to commemorate St. Valentine’s Day.
“It is my pleasure to offer couples the opportunity to exchange vows at the stately Smithville Mansion on the most romantic day of the year,” Tyler said.
“There are a limited number of appointments available so interested couples should contact the Clerk’s Office as soon as possible to schedule their ceremony,” explained Tyler. “Weddings will be performed by appointment, with the first wedding starting at 1 p.m. A limited number of ceremonies will be scheduled until 4 p.m.”
Couples interested in a Valentine’s Day wedding should contact the Clerk’s office at (609) 265–5142 to ensure an appointment is available. The couple will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides. It takes 72 hours to obtain the license, so it cannot be left until the last minute.
“With the continued support and cooperation of the County Freeholders, the county Division of Parks and the Friends of Smithville Mansion, we are looking forward to hosting the event at this gorgeous and historic location,” Tyler said.
County Clerk Tyler regularly performs wedding ceremonies for Burlington County residents and persons posted to local military facilities. Clerk Tyler has performed more than 2,000 ceremonies, including special events and annual holiday weddings.
