South Jersey Gas is planning on commencing utility work on South Burnt Mill Road Monday, Jan. 30. The work will be done in proximity to the Ashland PATCO station adjacent to the Burnt Mill and Evesham Roads intersection.
Kline Construction will be working on behalf of South Jersey Gas to replace the gas main and install 500 feet of new utility pipe over a five-day period along South Burnt Mill Road. The first night of work will be done from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to replace the main and then switch over to day time work from Jan. 31 to Feb. 3. Work will commence at 9:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. during the four days.
Pending weather conditions and any unforeseen delays in construction, the project should be completed on Feb. 3. Most of the work will be done during day time hours and lanes will be shifted to compensate for the construction crews. Signage will be posted towards the end of this current week.
“Motorists need to be mindful of the construction crews working in the roadway and look for alternate routes that bypass this location.” said Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “Throughout the day, while driving on South Burnt Mill Road, please stay prepared for traffic pattern changes and sudden stops. In addition, if you are taking PATCO please get an early start to your day as this work will create delays in the area.”
