The club donated the funds to Ahimsa Acres Sanctuary in Richland
Members of the Washington Township High School P.A.W.S. (Promoting Animal Welfare Society) Club Executive Board and Advisor Karen LaRosa happily handed over a $1,300 donation to representatives of the Ahimsa Acres Sanctuary in Richland, NJ on Jan. 20. The money was raised through the organization’s winter fundraiser “Deck the Stalls.” Billy the goat was also on hand for the check presentation.
Ahimsa, the Sanskrit word meaning “do no harm,” is the guiding philosophy of the sanctuary that welcomes animals of all types to a six-acre facility where Anthony and Jena Mazzio care for and provide permanent refuge for animals to live out the duration of their natural lives.
“We are so thankful for the continuous support of this wonderful group,” Anthony and Jena Mazzio said in accepting the donation.
