This week Mayor Randy Brown announced he had decided against running for New Jersey governor, Lt. Kim Guadagno was in town for Evesham Council’s reorganization meeting and the mayor said a female school district employee claimed that the district’s personnel director had sexually harassed her and others in 2015. Evesham Mayor Randy Brown decides against run for governor of New Jersey

However, Brown said he would not rule out running on the Republican ticket should the eventual nominee chose him for the spot as lieutenant governor.

Evesham Mayor calls for investigation of sexual harassment claims against school district official

This week Mayor Randy Brown called for an immediate special meeting of Evesham’s Board of Education to appoint an independent third-party to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against the district’s director of personnel. ETSD superintendent John Scavelli Jr. said any such matters are confidential in nature and the district is prohibited from discussing them in public However, Scavelli said the district has “very specific policies and procedures” for dealing with allegations of sexual harassment.

Evesham Township Council held its normal reorganization meeting on Jan. 9, however, this year’s meeting might stand out slightly more than others thanks to a brief appearance by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno. Guadagno swore in Councilmember Steve Zeuli as this year’s deputy mayor, with Guadagno also swearing in recently re-elected council members Ken D’Andrea and Robert DiEnna.

Evesham Police “Project Medicine Drop” box collects more than half ton of unwanted medications in 2016

According to police, throughout the year the department’s “Project Medicine Drop” box helped area residents dispose of 1,033 pounds of unwanted, unused, or expired medications. For those who need to dispose of unused medicines, they can use the box, located in the lobby of police headquarters, 24 hours a day, seven days.

Citizen tip leads Evesham Police Department to drug arrest

On Jan. 10, at approximately 6 p.m., Evesham Police Officers responded to a report of two males sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Meeting House Square Shopping Center, 300 Greentree Road, acting suspicious. Officers located the subjects described by the caller and during the investigation Evesham Police arrested one of the males for being in possession of six bags of heroin along with illegal pharmaceutical pills.
