Riverton native Jason Wark, whose favorite holiday is the Fourth of July, is battling brain cancer
On Saturday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m., the Riverton Fire Company will be holding “July 4 Jay” in support of Riverton native Jason Wark. Wark has been battling brain center for many years and is currently fighting for his life.
As Wark’s condition is deteriorating, the Riverton Fire Company is accelerating plans for this event. Wark has been a lifelong Riverton resident and a longtime public servant. Wark served as a United States Marine, Riverton Firefighter and Burlington County Prison Guard.
The Fourth of July is Wark’s favorite holiday. “July 4 Jay” will be a short parade in the spirit of the holiday in Riverton proceeding past Wark’s childhood home on the 400 block of Howard Street.
The parade will feature some of Wark’s passions such as fire apparatus, vintage cars, motorcycles and military vehicles. Mayors and representatives from Palmyra, Cinnaminson and Riverton will be in attendance.
Any organizations interested in participating should contact Firefighter Ray Reis at (609) 238–8497 or Brian Iannacone at (240) 508–7348. Please include your group’s name and approximate number of participants.
