The Washington Township High School Interact Club will be hosting its 14th Annual “Monzo Madness,” an 18-hour dance-a-thon to benefit local victims of Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). WTHS students, signing up as couples and raising a minimum of $100 to participate, will begin dancing at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, in the gymnasium of the school’s 11–12 wing. The event will continue until 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. The Washington Township Education Foundation has donated $3,250 to the cause, covering the t-shirt costs to outfit all participants in this year’s event.
Over 300 students have already pre-registered for the event and have already raised over $18,000 for ALS research. A donation will be made to the National ALS Foundation, bringing WTHS’s donation total to over $248,000 since the fundraiser’s inception.
Donations, with checks made payable to the WTHS Interact Fund, can be forwarded to April Renzetti at WTHS, 529 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. For additional information, please contact April Renzetti or Natalie Taylor at (856) 589–8500, x7251, or via email at [email protected] or [email protected].
