Indian Mills Boy Scout Troop recycles Christmas trees for National Day of Service

Indian Mills Boy Scout Troop 47 has designated Monday, Jan. 16 as Martin Luther King’s National Day of Service for Christmas tree removal and recycling.

Residents should leave their trees curbside by 8 a.m. on Jan. 16. Please make certain there is no tinsel, nails or flocking on the trees, or they will not be picked up. While the service is free, donations of $15 or more will be appreciated. Please place any donation checks made payable to Troop 47 into a plastic baggie and attach it to the base of the tree. Please do not give cash.

Troop 47 will use the funds raised to provide Scouts with travel opportunities, supplies, such as camping equipment, and to support local charitable events.

All trees will be taken to the Burlington County compost facility to be recycled as an easy way to return a renewable natural resource back to the environment.

For questions or to schedule a pickup of your tree please email Assistant Scoutmaster Rick Worrell at [email protected]. Be sure to include your address in the email to insure collection of your tree.
