The holidays may be over, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had around the region this weekend. Don’t have any plans yet? Check out some of these events.

In Moorestown

  • It’s officially basketball season, and in an attempt to reunite past Moorestown High School players, a Moorestown Alumni basketball game will take place on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until noon in the Moorestown Athletic Center gym.
  • Also on Saturday, alumnus Chris Newcomer (Class of 2001) will share music and stories of his time in Moorestown and on Broadway at 7:30 p.m. in the Moorestown High School auditorium. Additionally, a special preview of the high school’s Spring Musical, Curtains, will also be included. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Around South Jersey

· The YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties will also be opening its doors to the public this weekend. The YMCA will host open houses at its Burlington-Riverfront location, 302 Commerce Square Boulevard in Burlington, and its Mt. Laurel location, 59 Centerton Road, in Mt. Laurel, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can take a tour of the facilities and take advantage of a number of programs for free. · Congregation B’nai Tikvah-Beth Israel of Sewell is sponsoring a roller skating party on Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Deptford Skating Center, 510 Deptford Avenue in Westville. Family members of all ages can skate for $10 per person. The cost includes skating admission, the funzone, inflatables, a slice of pizza and a drink. Skate rentals are an additional $4.65 per person. At the Jersey Shore

  • Jazz lovers can visit Cape May this weekend and enjoy tunes from the MaryLou Newman Jazz Band. The band will perform at VFW Post 386, 419 Congress Street, in Cape May. Enjoy traditional jazz and some great Dixieland tunes from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door. Students can attend for free with a school ID. In Philadelphia

  • The Painted Bride Art Center will be celebrating Three Kings Day and Puerto Rican Christmas with a salsa dance party on Saturday night. The event takes place at the arts center, located at 230 Vine Street in Philadelphia. From 8 to 9 p.m., guests can take salsa dance lessons. This will be followed by an all-out dance party beginning at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the door. For more information, visit www.paintedbride.org.
  • On Sundays throughout the winter, guests can pay a visit to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts for free. The museum is located at 118–128 North Broad Street in Philadelphia. Guests can visit the museum’s marquee exhibit, “World War I and American Art,” as well as the rest of the museum galleries.
