Mt. Laurel Police arrest man for using stolen credit card information to pay college tuition

The suspect conspired with a person in the country of Ghana to make the fraudulent credit card transaction.

The following report is on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department:

On Sept. 14, Mt. Laurel Police began an investigation into suspected credit card fraud at Rowan College at Burlington County.

A student was suspected of using stolen credit card information to pay his tuition. The investigation revealed that Mr. Misty Sarfo-Adu, age 22, of Westampton, conspired with a person in the country of Ghana to make the fraudulent credit card transaction.

He was also found to possess the personal identification information of several other people.

On Dec. 27 Sarfo-Adu was arrested at his residence.

He was charged with trafficking in personal identifying information and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.

Bail was set at $35,000, no percent 10 option, and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.
