Shopping at the Moorestown Mall on New Year’s Eve, I browsed through the big stores in search of a new dress or outfit to add to my wardrobe. I was almost ready to give up when at last I found what I was looking for: a lovely, no-nonsense black dress with long sleeves, a white collar and broad white cuffs. It was stunning in its simplicity and the price was right, having been marked down to make it more appealing to shoppers in search of bargains.
I was about to take that dress to a fitting room, when a detail caught my eye: the name Ivanka Trump on the label, and beneath it, the words “Made in China.” I shook my head and walked away, my craving reduced to smithereens. I wonder, is this how we get our jobs back and “Make America great again”?
