Photographer Sherry Rubel spent four years documenting the Lakewood tent city, and on Dec. 17 she’ll be at the Mt. Laurel Library.
People who have lost their jobs and homes are pitching tents and building shacks in the woods near middle-class neighborhoods.
“Tent City” in Lakewood is just one of hundreds of these encampments around the country.
In an effort to delve more into this situation, photographer Sherry Rubel spent more than four years documenting the Lakewood encampment, and on Dec. 17 she’ll be at the Mt. Laurel Library talking about that experience and the need for affordable housing.
The event takes place on Dec. 17 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 2 at the Mt. Laurel Library. No registration required is for this event. This event is for those 18 years of age and older.
