The West Jersey Chamber Music Society brings Joy to the World

Always the most popular concert in the West Jersey Chamber Music Society’s calendar is the annual Christmas concert — in which the audience participates. This year’s concert on Sunday, Dec. 11 celebrates Christmas in the traditional English way, with Christmas carols and remembering the true spirit of the season.

Members of the Appearance Committee propose plant bed renovations

The purpose of the Moorestown Appearance Committee has always been to give advice on all architectural and aesthetic aspects within town. In keeping with this goal, members of the committee were present at the Town Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 28 to discuss the flower bed situation on Main Street.

Moorestown Theater Company presents “A Christmas Carol, The Musical”

For the second time in Moorestown Theater Company history, Mark Morgan will direct a performance of “A Christmas Carol, The Musical.” In doing so, two different casts will take part in eight total performances of the Christmas classic. Tickets can be purchased at the door, beginning one hour before curtain time.

The Burlington County Sheriff’s Department 21st Annual Toy Drive is underway in Burlington County

For more than two decades, the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department has held its annual holiday toy drive to allow residents and businesses in Burlington County to drop off toys at convenient locations to brighten the holiday season for local children in need.

Photography 36 — A Call for Works

Perkins Center for the Arts announced “Photography 36,” a juried exhibition of photographs by regional artists at the Perkins Center’s Moorestown Gallery. Work must be hand delivered and received on “Receiving Friday,” being held on Friday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., through Sunday, Jan. 15, from noon to 4 p.m.

Lead in water in five MTPS schools

Five out of the six Moorestown public schools tested positive for lead in water supplies. In a letter released on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 29, Superintendent Scott P. McCartney announced that, of the 271 samples taken, all but 16 tested below the lead action level.

Trinity Episcopal Church announces the selection of a new rector

Trinity Church is pleased to announce the calling of its 18th rector, Rev. Emily A. Mellott, who will arrive on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Mother Emily is coming from Lombard, Ill., a suburb of Chicago, where she served as the rector of Calvary Episcopal Church since 2008.

Perkins Pottery Associates Holiday Show and Sale

The Perkins Pottery Associates Holiday Show and Sale will take place from Friday, Dec. 9 through Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Perkins Center for the Arts located at 395 Kinds Highway. The opening reception on Friday, Dec. 9 will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

South Jersey Ballet Theatre Announces 25th Anniversary Nutcracker Season

South Jersey Ballet Theatre Artistic Director Andrea Duffin Conway is thrilled to announce the company’s 25th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker will debut Friday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. with additional performances Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m.

The Historical Society of Moorestown Annual Holiday and Volunteer Appreciation Party

The Garden State Chorale presents 85th Annual Christmas Concert

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Garden State Chorale will be presenting its annual holiday concert, “A Traditional Christmas.” Performances will take place at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. Tickets are available at reduced advanced-sale donation prices of $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and $6 for students.

MSC’s Girls U15 wins JAGS Elite Division title

Moorestown Soccer Club’s girl’s U15 team, the Union, won the U15 JAGS Elite Division on Wednesday, Nov. 17 with a tie against the Cape Express Soccer Club of Cape May County. The Union went 9–3–3 for the season.
