The department raised a total of $8,600 through its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign
The Cinnaminson Fire Department presented two foundations with identical $4,300 checks on Nov. 22 at Station 201 on Cinnaminson Ave. The department raised the money during the month of October as part of its annual breast cancer fundraiser.
This was the first year that the money was donated to two foundations. The $8,600 raised was the highest total raised by the department. The money was donated to the Virtua’s Tyanna Barre O’Brien Breast Cancer Comfort Fund and the Rebecca A. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was recently started in memory of a Virtua Paramedic who lost her battle with breast cancer at 28. This fund will offer scholarships to local paramedic students.
In attendance was businesses administrator and breast cancer survivor Jean Dietrick, the family of Rebecca Scott and representative from Virtua.
