Marlton is trotting closer to its first ever turkey trot, residents are hard at work making cookies for those in armed forces serving in the Middle East and Evesham Board of Education . Catch up on the week that was in the Weekly Roundup:

Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey is getting ready to hold its annual Cookie Drive on Dec. 3. Supporters can donate homemade or store-bought baked goods for the holidays for those serving in the armed forces in the Middle East.

First Annual Marlton Turkey Trot to be on Thanksgiving Day along Main Street

The inagural Marlton Turkey Trot will take place along Main Street on Thanksgiving Day starting at 8 a.m. The event is meant to provide residents a way to enjoy themselves while coming together as a community. Those interested can register online or before the day of the event.

Some of Evesham’s local Police, firefighters, other first responders got some free estate planning services at a recent Wills For Heroes event. The Wills for Heroes nonprofit was created emergency responders died in the wake of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Lenape Regional BOE keeps policy barring homeschool students from extracurricular activities

The Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education has decided to keep its policy barring homeschool students from extracurricular activities. After comments against the the policy from the public at the board’s Nov. 16 meeting, the BOE unanimously voted to uphold the policy.

DeMasi Middle School students create new smartphone application to cut down on food waste

DeMasi Middle School students recently outlined the idea for a new smartphone application to cut down on food waste. The project was part of a contest students recently participated at the New Jersey School Boards Association convention. Students also presented again at the Nov. 17 meeting of the Evesham BOE.
