Rowan College at Burlington County’s 2016 Arts Showcase features performances, creative works and more
From jazz music and theater performances, to fine art displays and culinary creations, Rowan College at Burlington County’s (RCBC) 2016 Arts Showcase will feature the talents of students in all of the college’s arts programs in one evening on Friday, Nov. 18.
The theme of the evening, “Beauty & Vulgarity: A Global Perspective,” was selected by RCBC’s honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, who will be asking the community to share their views on the art featured throughout the showcase by voting on whether a piece is vulgar or beautiful. The research findings from this “Honors in Action” project will be submitted to the national Phi Theta Kappa.
“The 2016 Arts Showcase gives the community an opportunity to come together and celebrate the arts in an interactive environment,” said Arts Showcase Coordinator and Assistant Professor Patricia Cohill. “Attendees can enjoy everything from video and digital media productions to fashion designs, and even get a taste of our culinary arts department. We have so much talent at Rowan College at Burlington County and we are looking forward to sharing it with the community.”
The 2016 Arts Showcase is a free event from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Enterprise Center at the college’s Mount Laurel campus. RCBC’s graphic design, fashion design, fine art, photography, theater, music, entertainment technology, and culinary arts programs will be showcased. Prospective students can also learn more about these programs by interacting with current students and speaking with faculty.
