Mt. Laurel man charged by Camden County Prosecutor in suspected fraudulent loan modification

The man is suspected of taking money from a victim for more than two years, never applying the money toward a mortgage.

The following information comes from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office:

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Collingswood Police Department are investigating a suspected fraudulent loan modification deal.

A Mt. Laurel man of Star Board Way has been charged with one count of third-degree theft by deception.

The man is alleged to have signed a contract with a victim to act as the mortgage broker for a loan modification.

Operating under the name Baymar Capital Funding LLC, the suspect took money from the victim for over two years, never applying the money towards the victim’s mortgage. The victim was ultimately evicted from the residence.

Detectives believe there could be more victims who have not come forward.

If members of the public know of anyone that has had dealings with the suspect, Baymar Capital, or have information related to this type of fraudulent activity, they are urged to contact the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Sergeant Michael Molle at (856) 225–8674.
