Say “aloha” to paradise when you take a look at the natural beauty, people and cultures of the Hawaiian Islands through a Medford Leas Forum titled, “Hawaii: Paradise Revisited,” being held on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Medford Leas Theater located at One Medford Leas Way.
Participants will learn about the historical roles of outside contact, American missionaries and business in changing the islands from a free kingdom to an annexed part of the U.S. Learn how the Hawaiian people — or kanaka — cope with cultural changes and demands on the sacred land, from Bill and Marty Smith, who resided on Oahu from 2012 to 2014.
This lecture is being offered at no cost. Registration is not required.
