Cherry Hill East field hockey’s longest playoff run in more than 40 years ended on Wednesday.
Cherry Hill East girls’ volleyball was victorious in its opening round playoff game on Wednesday afternoon.
The №4 seeded Cougars opened the NJSIAA Group IV Tournament with a 2–0 win over Bayonne High School on Wednesday afternoon at home. Cherry Hill East swept the match, winning 25–14, 25–15.
Kelly Babitz’s six kills led the Cougars in their win. Kat Koziol led the team with six digs. Megan O’Rourke tallied a team-leading 11 assists. Cherry Hill East had eight aces as a team in the match.
Cherry Hill East will be back at home on Friday for the second round of the playoffs. They will host №13 seed Clifton High School at 4 p.m.
Cherry Hill Field hockey’s playoff run ends in Jackson
The Cougars’ best playoff run in more than 40 years ended in a tight game against Jackson Memorial High School on Wednesday afternoon. The №8 seeded Cherry Hill East field hockey lost to №4 Jackson, 3–2, in the Central Jersey Group IV semifinals.
Cherry Hill East fell behind Jackson in the first half and fell just short of tying the game late. Carli Ciocco and Chloe Garber scored for the Cougars. Gabi Valladares made 13 saves.
